As I seek to serve as your next Sheriff of Jasper County, I am deeply committed to addressing the pressing issues that impact our community. I believe that our Sheriff's Department must be a proactive force for safety, fairness, and justice. We will build positive relationships and foster partnerships to address community concerns. Transparency and open communication will always be priorities to keep our citizens informed and involved.
This issue is deeply personal to our family, as we tragically lost our son, Jordan, to the epidemic in 2016. Like much of Indiana, Jasper County is grappling with a devastating opioid crisis that continues to impact families and communities across our county. Addressing this crisis requires a comprehensive strategy—one that extends beyond law enforcement to include education, prevention, and rehabilitation. As Sheriff, I am committed to strengthening partnerships with local agencies, healthcare providers, and rehabilitation centers to combat this epidemic while ensuring that those who profit from the suffering of others are held accountable.
Mental health issues are a significant concern in law enforcement and our community. I am committed to improving mental health training for all deputies, ensuring they are equipped to handle mental health crises with compassion and professionalism. Additionally, I will work towards diverting individuals from the justice system when appropriate and providing them with the care they deserve.
The safety of our children is paramount. As Sheriff, I will work closely with local school districts to improve school safety protocols, increase resource officer presence, and ensure that schools are equipped to handle emergencies effectively. I will also prioritize prevention programs that educate students about safety, bullying, and healthy decision-making.
Property crimes such as burglaries and thefts are a growing concern in Jasper County. I will take a proactive approach to combat property crimes by implementing neighborhood watch programs, enhancing surveillance capabilities, and using modern technology to solve crimes more efficiently. Together with our citizens, we can take steps to reduce crime and increase our sense of security.
A well-equipped, well-trained, and well-supported sheriff's department is crucial for the safety of Jasper County. I will prioritize ensuring our deputies have the resources, training, and support they need to do their jobs effectively. From maintaining modern equipment to ensuring mental health support for our officers, my administration will prioritize the well-being and safety of those who serve our community.

I will create regular public forums for citizens to voice concerns, ask questions, and offer input into the operations of the sheriff’s office.
